All families welcome.
Faith at Home: Practical Parenting Small Group
This 8-week parenting small group uses The Faithful Families Toolkit by Rev. Traci Smith and is designed to be a relaxed, judgment-free space for families with children of all ages and stages from toddlers to teens. Each week begins with dinner together, giving families time to arrive, settle in, and ease into the evening. During the second hour, parents engage in guided conversation and practical reflection around values, time, and everyday faith. Children will spend time together in a supervised, mixed-age play space where kids can play, build friendships, and be part of the shared rhythm of the night.
The group is facilitated by Betty, who has been a member of Los Altos Christian Church for seven years and brings deep life experience to this role. She raised two sons, delights in four energetic grandsons, and spent 22 years as a middle school teacher. What excites her most about facilitating is getting to know families and understanding what their real lives are like. She especially appreciates that this curriculum is not prescriptive—there’s no single “right way” to practice faith—so each family can adapt what we discuss to fit their own rhythms, needs, and season.
